of course its not a literal piece.
i've decided i'm making an umbrella.
i'm going to play with the symbolic image of a boat... with its two triangles and half moon shape...
but use an upside down umbrella.
umbrellas keep the water out while your going somewhere as well.
STEPS:
1. glue chunks of 2/4 together CHECK
2. file staff into cylinder CHECK
3. faux bois wood graining tool: white fabric (blues and browns)
4. cut triangle sails.
5. study wire in umbrellas and sow wood grained fabric together.
6. cut staff shape out of chunks of pine
7. sand down and glue staff to curve.
8. paint staff
9. sow in wire to fabrics
10. spray umbrella with water resistant spray
11. FIGURE THE HECK OUT HOW TO ATTACH THE STAFF TO THE BRELLA.
12. attach sails.
WIN.
